Internship Program

The National Park Service works with several contracting agencies to support youth (ages 18-30) working in our parks. Programs such as Youth Conservation Corps, Scientists in Parks, Mosaics in Science, Pathways, 21st Century Conservation Service Corps, and Conservation Legacy are just a few of the programs that work with the NPS and Agate Fossil Beds National Monument. (Note: Veterans can be up to 35 years of age to qualify for these programs.)

A barn swallow tends to her babies in her mud nest mounted high on the wall of the visitor center. A fist sized barn swallow is iridescent black with a sharp forked tail and rust brown underside.
Barn Swallows often make their homes here at Agate Fossil Beds National Monument.
