Special Use Permits Most special events and activities held in the park require a Special Use Permit (SUP). A SUP will be issued only after the National Park Service (NPS) determines that the activity will not damage or be incompatible with the park's resources, values, visitor experience, or purpose for which the park was established. If you wish to conduct an event or other special activity in the park, you are required to apply for a Special Use Permit at least 30 days prior to the proposed event or activity. A nonrefundable $100 application fee is required to cover expenses associated with processing the application.
Filming and Photography Permits Filming and photography permits are issued for photography, filming, and associated sound recording when they involve props, models, professional crews, and casts or set dressings. Permits are issued to ensure the protection of resources and to prevent significant disruption of normal visitor uses. Permits are also required for access to areas normally closed to the visiting public.
Commercial Use Authorizations A Commercial Use Authorization (CUA) is a business permit with the National Park Service (NPS) that authorizes an individual, group, company, or other for-profit entity to conduct commercial activities and provide specific visitor services within the park.
