To mark the 150th anniversary of the Nation's greatest conflict, Appomattox Court House NHP created monthly articles to chronicle this epic struggle. These articles profile happened nationally each month, but the purpose is to show how the County of Appomattox and the surrounding area known as Southside Virginia reacted to the national drama as it unfolded.
