Student Conservation Association photo, L. Prelgovisk. What is Historic Preservation?Historic preservation is all about taking care of the places, buildings, and stories that matter. It means protecting historic landmarks, restoring old structures, and keeping cultural sites alive so future generations can experience and learn from them. Whether it’s hands-on work with tools, research, or community outreach, it’s a powerful way to stay connected to our past and shape the future. If you're into history, architecture, storytelling, or just making a lasting impact, there’s a place for you in this field. About Historic Preservation CorpsThe SCA Massachusetts Historic Preservation Corps is a young-adult service-learning program based in Massachusetts that offers participants training and experience in several historic preservation and maintenance trades including carpentry, window restoration, historic trail-side structure restoration, masonry, landscaping, painting, and more.
