With over four million annual visits and diverse operations required to protect these resources and provide for public enjoyment, the national seashore manages a complex infrastructure system.

12 miles of bike trails
24 1/4 miles on 12 designated walking trails
70 septic systems
2 visitor centers, 18,900 square feet

300 buildings in the park, 44 of which are historic

Currently, Cape Cod National Seashore’s has $48.9 million in deferred maintenance. Several major projects are underway or planned to repair and rehabilitate infrastructure to reduce the deferred maintenance backlog.
