There are many ways to GET INVOLVED at Carl Sandburg Home NHS. Volunteer, join the Friends support group, visit the bookstore for a special gift or make a donation. Visitors, partners and friends help every day to make this place special. Learn more below:

Friends of Carl Sandburg at Connemara is a non-profit organization that supports programs and projects such as the Folk Music Festival, Family Fun Festivals, Christmas at Connemara, Poetry Celebration, Writer-in-Residence Program and many others.

Park Store - America's National Parks operates the park bookstore located on the first floor of the historic Sandburg Home. A percentage of the proceeds from all sales are donated back to the park and supports the volunteer program and summer plays. Please note store hours are limited from Dec thru Feb. Please check our operating hours before planning your visit.

Volunteers in Parks (VIPs) show their support by donating valuable time. Park volunteers assist with house tours, caring for the goat herd, hiking trails, tending the gardens, assisting with special events and as citizen scientists collecting data about the life cycle of plants and animals within the park. Would you like to help Carl Sandburg Home by donating an item or funds to help with a particular program, event, trail or project? The National Park Service does accept donations. Supporters of the area have donated their time through volunteer service, funding for special projects on historic buildings or for special events.
