Honoring Cesar Chavez and the Farmworker Movement

At the César E. Chávez National Monument, visitors can immerse themselves in the story of one of the most important labor leaders in American history. Here’s what you can explore:

Memorial Garden

The Memorial Garden is a peaceful space where you’ll find Cesar and Helen Chavez’s gravesite. A nearby fountain honors the five martyrs of the farm labor movement. The garden is filled with roses that bloom year-round, including a variety named in Chavez’s honor, creating a beautiful place for reflection.

Visitor Center

The visitor center offers everyone a chance to learn more about Chavez’s life and work:

  • Films: Watch documentaries about his life and the farm workers’ struggle for justice.
  • Office: Step into Chavez’s unchanged office, preserved just as it was during his life.
