Dial 9-1-1 in Emergencies

If you experience an emergency while in the park, dial 9-1-1 to access the City of El Paso's 911 System. Be prepared to provide the address for Chamizal National Memorial and identify where you are in the park.

Traffic Safety

Traffic can be congested on roadways leading to Chamizal National Memorial, and there is often road construction in the area. You can check current and future road conditions around the area on the Texas Department of Transportation website before coming. Pedestrian traffic toward the Bridge of the Americas/Cordova Bridge can be heavy throughout the day. Please be vigilant of pedestrians crossing the roads near the park.

Zika Virus

Due to the park's proximity to Mexico, where there is a presence of Zika Virus transmission, visitors to Chamizal National Memorial are encouraged to be informed about Zika Virus and how to minimize risk of coming into contact with it.

Safety Rules

Some activities, such as possessing alcohol during certain times of year and bringing glass containers, are prohibited in the park for the safety of all visitors. Before you visit, refer to the Superintendent's Compendium to find out about rules that are specific to Chamizal National Memorial.
