The management of these areas requires a dedicated work force that is hired through various methods. This information will help you get started on your career with the National Park Service.

Internships

Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area is hiring paid interns to support public programming, environmental education, and volunteerism in the park.

Positions range from 17 to 48 weeks and offer a living stipend, park housing, and Public Lands Corps federal hiring eligibility (after 640 hrs). Positions include professional development and networking activities, training opportunities, and lots of time in the great outdoors. These are a great pathway into a career with the National Park Service or other public agencies.

Student Conservation Association

Student Conservation Association

The Student Conservation Association (SCA) offers positions in many park areas. While not a salaried position, you will receive compensation in the form of a stipend, moving expenses or mileage reimbursement and a monetary award which can be used for paying off old school loans or paying for additional classes. Current Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers at Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area provide important support by contributing to Education programs or to park operations and resource stewardship with Trail Maintenance, Clean-Ups, Facilities Maintenance, Resource Monitoring, or other areas.
