![]() Jeffrey Pippen, http://www.duke.edu/~jspippen/nature.htm Slender Mountain Mint (Pycananthemum tenufolium) is a minty-smelling plant that grows in clusters to about 20-30 inches tall. Its white flowers bloom from June-September and attract birds, butterflies, bumblebees, and other pollinators. It prefers moist, acidic soils and either full sun or partial shade. Look for it in dry woods, meadows, fields, and thickets. While deer enjoy eating the leaves, rubbing the leaves on your skin can provide a natural mosquito repellent. |
