Meet the Mules
Meet the hardworking mules that help operate boat demonstrations. Offered spring, summer, and fall months only. Meet the multes and learn about the role they played in the daily operations along the Canal. The program takes place behind the Visitor Center.

Lock Demonstrations
See how canal boats were lifted and lowered through locks along the canal. Join a Park Ranger for a demonstration of a manually operated 19th century lift lock. Participation is encouraged! Demonstrations take place outside of the Visitor Center.

Rileys Lockhouse Tours
Explore the life of a lock-keeper with a guided tour of one of the C&O Canal's original lockhouses. Open most weekends in the spring and fall.
