iQuilt had a press conference today announcing the big news with the Mayor of Hartford, Luke Bronin. Congratulations to our partners including iQuilt, The MetroHartford Alliance, City of Hartford, CRCOG and Riverfront Recapture!
As you may have heard, Hartford has been designated as a Silver Walk Friendly Community! This is incredible news, and not just because Hartford is the first municipality in the State of Connecticut to receive this designation, but because it groups our Capital City with the likes of Austin, Burlington, Philadelphia and Santa Monica. Walk Friendly Communities is a national recognition program developed to encourage towns and cities across the U.S. to establish or recommit to a high priority for supporting safer walking environments.
The Hartford Courant also ran a piece highlighting the accomplishment.
