Largest species of Gumbo Limbo in North America at De Soto NM. Certified by the National Register of Large Trees May 5, 2008 as a Champion Tree. Unfortunately, due to the Ganoderma fungus and damage from Hurricane Irma, the Champion Tree was removed in November, 2018
