Mesa Verde Visitor and Research Center, Mesa Verde National Park, Colorado

The visitor and research center consists of two main building components: the 7,400 square foot Visitor Information Center and the 16,300 square foot Curatorial Center. This high-performance building complex demonstrates the use of energy efficiency, renewable energy, water conservation, recycling, and environmentally preferable materials. The curation facility incorporated special envelope and mechanical systems to preserve over 3 million artifacts. In addition the on-site renewable energy systems are capable of offsetting 95% of the building energy requirements.
