Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument (FLFO) provides opportunities for the visiting public to enjoy and learn about the natural and cultural resources found in this area. As a unit of the National Park Service (NPS), activities conducted by commercial entities are managed through the Commercial Use Authorization (CUA) program. Such activities are allowed when they are consistent with the mission of the monument and if they will not harm the resource or interfere with the visitor experience. Examples might include hiking tours, birdwatching tours, and photography/art workshops. In early 2025, all NPS units were to cease use of hard copy CUA processing and move to an online system. FLFO is beginning the transition to this as of this update. As CUAs must now be issued with a start date of January 1st of each year, FLFO will not begin offering CUAs until the fall of 2025.
