Planning a picnic?

Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument has two picnic areas in the park. Each picnic area has tables, a trash container, and a pit toilet, but no running water. The Picnic Area near the Visitor Center has 12 tables and pets are allowed. The Barksdale Picnic Area, located on Lower Twin Rocks Road, has 5 tables.

As you prepare and enjoy you meal, help protect the park, wildlife, and yourself:

Never feed wild animals, including birds and squirrels
Animals that become dependent on human food may become aggressive toward people.

Store all food when not in use
Keep all food in your vehicle.

Do not camp in picnic areas
Barksdale Picnic Area is day use only.
