Below the “Overview” there will be a status bar that indicates the status of the job announcement. You should be looking for “accepting applications” green status bar.
Opening and closing dates: typically, they close at 11:59pm EST of the close date. Make sure you know when the job closes, because late applications will not be accepted.
Pay scale & grade: GS5-7 are typically for those that hold a bachelor's degree.
Salary: this is what you will make, but take the lowest value in consideration, because that is most likely your starting salary
Appointment type: this is where you will see if the position is full-time, part-time, temporary, seasonal, or permanent.
Locations: where the job is located, there may be openings in many different locations for the same position.
Responsibility: what to expect in a position. Also, this is a great section to look at when tailoring your federal resume.
Qualifications: read through this section, but do not be discouraged, the most important qualifications to really make note of are education and language requirements. Some positions are also only open to those already working federal jobs.
How you will be qualified: this is where USAHires might be required, you can preview questions if it is required. USAHires might not be required, if so, this section might be an extension of the “Qualifications” section.
Required Documents: pay close attention to what is needed, if you do not submit all the required documents, your application might be labelled as incomplete and will not be considered.
Agency Contact Information: this is who you will contact regarding the job, it may be an email or a phone number.
