Welcome Teachers!

Fort Necessity offers many ways for teachers and students to learn about both of the park's themes; George Washington and the French and Indian War, and the Mount Washington Tavern and the National Road. Curriculum resources can be found on the website.

We recommend that fieldtrip groups give themselves a couple hours to watch the orientation film (20-minutes), explore the exhibits, and tour the battlefield and reconstructed fort. As weather and staffing permit, we may also offer a Soldier's Life program and a historic weapons demonstration. Mount Washington Tavern and Jumonville Glen are only available seasonally (May 1st to November 1st), please plan accordingly. If you are too far away to visit in person, we have Distance Learning and virtual presentations available too!

Our Visitor Center is open 9 AM to 5 PM every day, except for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's days. Please feel free to contact us at (724) 329-5805 or by email.
