Touring Friendship Hill National Historic Site

Set aside one to three hours to visit and enjoy the historic house. Find exhibits on Gallatin's life achievements through the house, along with some pieces of furniture similar to what Gallatin may have had when he lived in the house. You will find inside exhibits on the first and second floors. Through out the year there are a variety of special programs, including our Whiskey Rebellion event the weekend before Labor Day.

We offer two five minute films in the theater, Gallatin Biography and House Overview. There is also a self-guided cell phone tour of the house and grounds. A picnic area and comfort station are adjacent to the main parking area. Visitors can explore the 661 acre park by way of ten miles of nature trails.

Starting with Friendship Hill National Historic Site and headed north, there is Fort Necessity National Battlefield, Flight 93 National Memorial, Johnstown Flood National Memorial and Allegheny Portage National Historic Site. Each one has its own special story and impacts that effect future events.
