All year long, Gateway's three units offer a wide variety of outdoor recreation activities. Check out our calendar of events or follow us on Facebook to find out what's coming up.

 

Outdoor Activities

  • Archery Range at Floyd Bennett Field
    Archery

    Gateway has an archery range located in Floyd Bennett Field. Equipment is not provided, you must bring your own.

    Bicycling is a great way to explore all three units of Gateway

    More than 300 species of birds have been found at Gateway, a prime birding site.

    Boating

    Boats (large and small) can be used in all three units of Gateway.

    Camping is available at Gateway.

    Cast your line and get hooked! You can fish at many places in all three units of Gateway.

    Get your steps in at Gateway. There are many miles to run or walk throughout the park.

    Gateway has three lifeguarded beaches: Great Kills Beach, Jacob Riis Park and Sandy Hook. Please swim at our lifeguarded beaches.

    There are multiple sports fields in the New York units of Gateway National Recreation Area.
