Habitat Restoration

These volunteers primarily work to detect and remove invasive plant species throughout the park. Volunteers will be trained to identify invasive species and the proper techniques for their removal. In addition to invasive plant control, habitat restoration volunteers may occasionally assist with revegetation tasks such as collecting native seed, growing/planting native species, and watering plantings. This work improves the aesthetic of the battlefield and also helps protect native ecosystems. The work schedule can be heavier during the growing season but there is restoration work to be done year-round.
