Volunteer

Volunteers are at the heart of Gettysburg National Military Park and Eisenhower National Historic Site. Every year our volunteers work side by side with park staff to help us achieve our missions. By becoming a volunteer, you not only help us preserve and protect our National Parks, but you also join a community of volunteers that help you develop new skills while exploring the history of Gettysburg.

While some volunteer activities take place throughout the year, most of our programs run from the spring through the fall. Below are descriptions of the various volunteer opportunities available throughout both parks. Spots are limited so check back often to see which opportunities are currently recruiting new volunteers.

New volunteers are expected to apply through Volunteer.gov and interview with the park’s volunteer coordinator before acceptance into the volunteer program. If you have questions or concerns about this process, please email our volunteer coordinator.
