Ranger-led Field Trips

Spring 2025 Registration is CLOSED

If you would like to plan a field trip, we encourage you to use the self-guided field trip materials. We also have resources featuring rangers, including the village rim walk video and the Exploring Geology at the Grand Canyon National Park video. We have even more videos and resources organized by topic here: Student Learning.

If you are visiting on your own, you need to request an academic fee waiver through the process outlined here: Educational Fee Waiver - Grand Canyon National Park (U.S. National Park Service)

Enjoy your visit!

Overview

Grand Canyon National Park is a wonderful outdoor setting for place-based learning. The park’s Education Team offers ranger led field trips designed for students in grades 3 to 8. Programs support Arizona Science Standards.

Due to limited capacity and reduced staffing, field trip programs are limited to 50 students or less per day. Registration is required for all ranger led field trips. Programs are free of charge and take place on the South Rim.

If you are interested in bringing your students to Grand Canyon National Park for a teacher led trip, please visit our Self-Guided Field Trip page. Fill out the academic fee-waiver and submit via the email address listed on the form.
