Village Ranger Programs - Presented Daily

  • All programs are free of charge.
  • Children must be accompanied by an adult on all programs.
  • All outdoor ranger programs are subject to cancellation due to inclement weather or when lightning danger is present. When possible, programs will be moved indoors.

Geology Talk (30 minutes duration)

Daily at 11 am, at Yavapai Geology Museum

Grand Canyon is a geologically young landscape being sculpted from very old rocks. Knowing some of the stories encoded in the rock layers enriches your understanding of our planet and enhances your experience at Grand Canyon.

Canyon Connections (30 minutes duration)

Daily at 3 pm at South Rim Visitor Center

Discover a deeper connection to the Grand Canyon. Join a ranger to dive into the canyon's diverse ecosystems, rich cultural heritage, or ever-changing landscape. Topics change daily. Come curious, leave inspired! Program may include a short walk to Mather Point or along the Canyon Rim Trail.

Grand Canyon Star Party (South Rim - and North Rim)

Join us for eight nights of astronomy presentations, telescope viewing, constellation talks, and more. The event is free to attend (once you have obtained park entry), no tickets needed.


2025 Grand Canyon Celebration of Art - Demonstrations and Exhibition (South Rim Village)
September 21, 2025, through April 26, 2025
Founded in 2009, Celebration of Art invites participating artists to create "en plein air" (outside on location) for a week on the South Rim of Grand Canyon. Artwork produced during this special event is shared with the public during a six month sale and exhibition, online, and in-person at Historic Kolb Studio.
