Volunteers-in-Parks (VIP) Program

The Sky's the Limit with our Volunteers

At Grand Teton National Park, we are privileged to have the support of hundreds of dedicated volunteers each year. Their involvement is crucial to our operations and enhances the overall experience for everyone who visits. Here’s how our volunteers make a difference:

  • Visitor Education: Volunteers help educate park visitors about the natural environment, wildlife, and park regulations, ensuring that everyone leaves with a deeper understanding of this stunning area.
  • Data Collection: Assisting with scientific studies and surveys, volunteers play a key role in gathering important data that helps us monitor and protect the park's ecosystem.
  • Trail Maintenance: Volunteers participate in maintaining and rehabilitating trails, ensuring safe and enjoyable access to the park for all.
  • Emergency Response: In critical situations, our volunteers are trained to respond to visitors in peril, helping to ensure their safety and well-being.

Housing and Accommodation

While we offer limited housing and RV sites, these are available solely to selected volunteers based on the number of hours served and the specific area of service. Our aim is to accommodate as many dedicated individuals as possible.

A Heartfelt Thank You

We are grateful for the growing number of individuals who wish to volunteer in our park each year. In fact, we often receive more applications than we can accommodate. Your passion for protecting and enhancing these extraordinary places is invaluable to us. Thank you for your commitment to Grand Teton National Park!

If you have questions please email Grand Teton National Park’s Volunteer Coordinator.
