All are welcome for free concerts held at Fort Hunt Park every Sunday in June, July and August. Concerts are held at Pavilion A. Unless otherwise noted with an asterisk (*), concerts begin at 7:00 p.m. There are picnic tables in the pavilion, but bringing your own chair or blanket is recommended as seating is limited.

June 1—National Concert Band of America
The National Concert Band of America (NCBA) was founded in 1974 by veterans and legendary players from each of the Washington-area military service bands. The group's heritage lies in the history and traditions of the Military Bands of the U.S. Armed Forces. Currently, membership includes veterans of the country's great military service bands, as well as civilian musicians who have demonstrated outstanding instrumental proficiency and musicianship.
June 8—Nitehawks
One of DC's best big bands returns to Fort Hunt! Nitehawks Swing Band has played community performances in Northern Virginia since 1997.
June 15—Collective Delusion
Collective Delusion plays an electric variety of rock music from the 1970s to modern times. The band is composed of members with various influences from folk to jazz and two rocking ladies on vocals.
June 22—Northern Virginia Saxophone Quartet
Michael Barr, Jeannie Farnsworth, Mila Weiss and Jairo Chavez demonstrate the amazing versatility of the saxophone! Enjoy a mixed program of classical, theatrical, popular and jazz songs.
June 29—Starlight Orchestra
The Starlight Orchestra is an ensemble of federal employees specializing in jazz music composed between the swing era and modern times. They have performed in the Washington, DC area for more than twenty years.
July 6—Surf Jaguars
The Surf Jaguars play a variety "beach party” show—Beach Boys, Elvis, the Black Keys, Dick Dale, the Ventures—and original compositions, to boot. Come catch some waves while the surf’s up!
July 13—Mount Vernon Community Band
Celebrate Alexandria, Virginia’s 276th birthday with its hometown community band! Formed in 1978, the Mount Vernon Community Band performs marches, light classics, popular showtunes, patriotic selections and overtures at various community events.
July 20—The Hot Lanes
The Hot Lanes is a 16-piece culmination of a vision Bobby Jasinski had in 2014. With influences ranging from Wynton Marsalis to the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, the focus of The Hot Lanes is to promote jazz in the DC metropolitan area. Featuring a diverse and talented group of musicians, The Hot Lanes encourages jazz music through concerts, festivals, educational masterclasses in the public school system and other appearances.
July 27—NoVA Mountain Dulcimers
Enjoy renditions of Appalachian songs dating from1800-1930, performed by an ensemble of talented musicians devoted to mastering the dulcimer.
August 3—Blue Book Value
Blue Book Value has been playing in the Washington, DC metro area since 1996. In addition to blues and swing, they play a bit of rock n' roll, as well as a few current popular songs. The band’s repertoire includes songs by Junior Wells, Susan Tedeschi, Ray Charles, Sara Bareilles, Sheryl Crow, Otis Redding and many others.
August 10—Mandoleers
The Mandoleers, founded in Takoma Park, Maryland in 1923 as the Takoma Mandoleers, perform contemporary music for mandolin orchestra as well as arrangements of classical and popular tunes.
August 17—The Bob Gibson Big Band
Formed in 2006 to explore the full dimension of Big Band Jazz, The Bob Gibson Big Band is comprised of musicians with a shared love for free artistic expression in the jazz idiom. The band’s repertoire includes classics from the great Big Bands of Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Benny Goodman, Cab Calloway, Tommy Dorsey, Benny Carter, Artie Shaw, Jimmie Lunceford, Ray Anthony, Lionel Hampton, Harry James, Earl Hines, Woody Herman, Dizzy Gillespie, Stan Kenton, Buddy Rich, Thad Jones/Mel Lewis and many more.
August 24—Porch Pirates
The Porch Pirates are an Alexandria bluegrass band who have performed at various local venues, including the inaugural Waynewoodstock music festival in 2024.
August 31—Alte Kameraden
Alte Kameraden or “old comrades” is the title of a popular German military march. This group has belonged to the City of Fairfax Band since its founding in 1977. Alte Kameraden introduce American audiences to the lush, spirited festmusik of Bavarian lands.
