ZION NATIONAL PARK
Pine Creek Bridge (1929-1930)

Pine Creek Bridge, part of Zion-Mount Carmel Highway, opened in 1930 to link Zion, Bryce, Cedar Breaks, and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. The bridge is a single masonry arch of Navajo sandstone facing with a rubble-stone core, twenty-three feet above the creek. Sandstone blocks in shades of tan, brown, red, pink, purple, and green were precisely finished and worked into the face and underside of the arch.10
