100 Mile Challenge

Commemorate Hopewell Culture National Historical Park's Centennial with a hundred-mile challenge!

Simply walk the many trails at four of our park units that are open to the public, fill out our mile tracker form, and submit! Park grounds are open from sunrise to sunset and available for walking every day of the year. Each park unit contributes to the amazing story of this 2,000-year-old American Indian culture, and the miles of trails offer a glimpse into the immense earthworks they created.

Once you have completed 100 miles, simply submit your Mile Tracker through any of the following options and you’ll earn a limited-edition sticker to show your accomplishment:

• Drop off your completed Mile Tracker at the Mound City Group Visitor Center, 16062 State Route 104, Chillicothe, OH 45601 or
• Email park staff a photo of your completed Mile Tracker to e-mail us or
• Mail your completed Mile Tracker along with your return address to Hopewell Culture NHP, 16062 State Route 104, Chillicothe, OH 45601.

Complete your 100 miles by hiking the trails at any of our four public locations:

1. Mound City Group. Trail length: about 1 mile. Address: 16062 State Route 104, Chillicothe, OH 45601
2. Hopewell Mound Group. Trail length: about 2.3 miles. Address: 4731 Sulphur Lick Rd., Chillicothe, OH 45601.
3. Hopeton Earthworks. Trail length: about 1.7 miles. Address: 990 Hopetown Rd., Chillicothe, OH 45601.
4. Seip Earthworks. Trail length: about 1.7 miles. Address: 7078 US Route 50, Bainbridge, OH 45612.
