Physical/Mobility
Parking:
There are designated accessible parking spots at the Visitor Center, North Abutment, South Abutment and picnic area.
Wheelchairs:
One wheelchair is available for loan at the Visitor Center, free of charge. Please inquire at the front desk.
Accessible restrooms:
Visitor Center- flush toilets
South Abutment- vault toilets
Picnic area- vault toilets
Lake View Visitor Center:
The walkway from the parking lot to the Visitor Center entrance. The walkway contains a slope.
The Visitor Center is fully accessible to wheelchair users.
The theater has accessible seating on the top level.
An elevator is located on the top floor of the building.
The restrooms are located on the lower level.
The restroom doors have automatic doors via a push button.
A paved walkway is located outside the Visitor Center to view signs and overlook the remains of the dam.
Please let the ranger at the front desk know if you need help accessing items in the bookstore.
Club House:
The Club House is open for special events in the spring and summer months.
There are no designated accessible parking spots in the gravel lot.
There is a ramp from the parking lot to the porch.
There are high thresholds from the porch doors to the building interior.
The building does not contain an elevator.
North Abutment:
The walkway contains a paved surface and a boardwalk.
There is a slightly gradual incline.
On this out and back trail, it is approximately 0.40 miles.
South Abutment:
The walkway is a grassy surface.
The walkway can be uneven and contain tree roots.
The out and back walk to the abutment is approximately 0.10 miles.
Carriage Road Nature Trail:
The trail contains several slopes and uneven surfaces.
Please watch for rocks and tree roots.
Path of the Flood Trail (POTF):
The section of trail at Johnstown Flood National Memorial is crushed limestone.
This section of trail contains steep slopes.
