Persons seeking to request motor vehicle use upon Joshua Tree National Park roads not open to the public (NPS Administrative Roads) must apply for a Special Use Permit (SUP). Special Use Permits for the operation of motor vehicles upon administratively closed roads will be issued by the Park Superintendent in accordance with the Code of Federal Regulations and National Park Service Management Policies. SUP applications may be submitted to the Joshua Tree NP Permitting Office by email or traditional mail to JOTR_Permit_Office@nps.gov and Joshua Tree NP Permit Office, 74485 National Park Highway, Twentynine Palms, CA 92277, respectively.
