Some of the land along Kenai Fjords coastline is owned by the Port Graham Corporation, an Alaska Native Corporation. A land use permit is required to access these private lands, however, some areas are marked as public easements and can be used for up to 24 hours without a permit. Formed under the Alaska Native Settlement Act of 1971 to represent the Sugpiaq people inhabiting the Kenai Fjords, the Port Graham Corporation is located on the tip of the gorgeous Kenai peninsula at the sea-bound entry to Cook Inlet. The Port Graham Corporation and Kenai Fjords National Park are working together to preserve and protect the rich ecological and cultural values of the Kenai Fjords through establishment of infrastructure leading to cooperative management of park and corporation lands and resources.
