Lowell Women's Week

Lowell Women's Week logo

Lowell Women's Week honors the women who came before. This celebration takes place in March, proclaimed by a joint resolution of Congress in 1987 as Women's History Month. This month-long observance grew out of Women's History Week, initiated in 1978 by the Sonoma County (California) Commission on the Status of Women and enacted in 1981 by a Joint Congressional Resolution. At the center of the celebration is the International Women's Day, celebrated worldwide on March 8th.

For over 25 years, the City of Lowell has honored women with programs and events throughout the month of March. For more information, please visit the Lowell Women's Week Facebook page and Website.
