Xunaa Shuká Hít—roughly translated as "Huna Ancestor's House"—is the first permanent clan house in Glacier Bay since Łingít villages were destroyed by an advancing glacier over 250 years ago.

Built from 1937-1939 as a Works Progress Administration (WPA) project with local limestone, the Nicodemus Township Hall has served as a central meeting place for the community for decades. Representing the pillar of self-determination in African American communities, this building hosted everything from voting and township meetings to dances and roller-skating. It currently houses the site's visitor center.

"the Big Bopper" Richardson hours before a tragic plane accident claimed their lives in February 1959. Todd Union on the University of Rochester campus in Rochester, New York, was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2023. Todd Union is significant as the site of origin of the University of Rochester's chapter of the Gay Liberation Front (GLF), which was founded in 1970. The creation and activities of the GLF established a sense of community amongst Rochester's LGBTQ residents, and advanced the community's fight for civil rights and gay liberation.

Dan Lawson Place is a group of historic structures about 7 miles into the 11-mile Cades Cove driving loop just past the intersection with Hyatt Lane.

In 1933, the mission-style Spanish Ballroom was built over the 7,500 square-foot floor of the previous Crystal Ballroom. Many big name bands - Tommy Dorsey, Artie Shaw, Lawrence Welk, Bill Haley and the Comets, and others - played to capacity crowds of up to 1,800 dancers. It is still one of the premier ballrooms on the East Coast.

A short journey from the Carl Hayden Visitor Center, you will find the Wahweap Overlook. This high point offers a 360-degree panorama of the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. It is a “must see” at anytime of day, however, sunrise and sunset adds a fusion of brilliant color to this awe-inspiring scene. There is a shade shelter and a bench for your viewing comfort. The overlook is open from sunrise to sunset.

This is one of several places along Village Creek where you can launch a kayak, canoe, or small boat. From here, it's 7.1 miles downriver to the boat launch on US 96.

For almost a century, the original Everett Covered Bridge provided safe crossing over Furnace Run. Today’s bridge was reconstructed after a 1975 flood. The trailhead provides access to the bridge and nearby trails. The 5.6-mile Riding Run Trail is open to pedestrians and horses. The 1.9-mile Furnace Run Trail is a walking trail popular for viewing spring wildflowers.

Located at Milepost 422 along the Blue Ridge Parkway, Devils Courthouse offers a large parking area and unobstructed views of the prominent rock formation, which rises 5,720 feet above sea level. On a clear day, visitors can see four states from the top of the formation.

Henry and Catherine Eckerdt immigrated from Bohemia to the U.S. between 1850 and 1855, arriving in Michigan in 1857. In 1862, the Eckerdts purchased and settled on their farm in Port Oneida. The Henry and Catherine Eckerdt farm has been described as an "excellent example of an historical farm"; it was the site of many dances enjoyed by community residents. Catherine Eckerdt was a midwife and community nurse.

Janet Hutchison began advocating for the preservation of Cuyahoga Valley in 1966. As a member of the League of Women Voters, she gave slide shows and bus tours. After park establishment in 1974, Janet volunteered more than 22,600 hours providing expertise in cartography, graphic artistry, data management, and legislative histories.

The south coast people living from the Aleutians to Prince William Sound, were skilled kayakers and sea hunters. Yukon Island Main Site is an associated landmark.
