Emergent Bat Surveys at Grandview

Starting in April 2025, New River Gorge National Park and Preserve is inviting volunteers to get involved in this exciting community project. Help us continue last year’s success and join us at the Grandview Bat Condo every 2nd and 4th Wednesday just before sunset from April through November, 2025! These surveys are conducted around sunset, the time when the nocturnal residents of our bat condo take flight! Participants should arrive 30 minutes prior to sunset and should bring a chair or blanket to sit on during the observation. No experience is needed. If interested in volunteering for this special wildlife survey, email Adrienne Jenkins adrienne_jenkins@nps.gov or call 304-465-2634 to be added to the bat condo monitoring schedule.
