Trails & Rails

The Trails and Rails program is a partnership between Amtrak, the National Park Service, and the Department of Recreation, Park and Tourism Sciences at Texas A&M University. By placing volunteer interpretative guides on board Amtrak routes across the nation this partnership works to continue the tradition of facilitating and expanding the connection of trains, parks and people. Volunteer guides on the trains offer historical, natural, and ecological interpretive programming to Amtrak passengers. The National Parks of New York Harbor is a proud participant in this program and systmaticaly supports its mission through various ways.
