The National Park of American Samoa Visitor Center

The new visitor center, which replaces the previous facility destroyed by the 2009 tsunami, marks the culmination of the park’s recovery efforts. This state-of-the-art facility serves as both an educational and cultural hub, inviting local residents and international visitors to explore the park’s rich biodiversity and cultural heritage.

Exhibits in Samoan and English

Designed to be accessible to all, the exhibits are presented in both Samoan and English, allowing visitors to fully appreciate the unique significance of American Samoa's tropical rainforests, vibrant coral reefs, native fruit bats, and deep-rooted Samoan traditions. The center’s interactive displays offer hands-on experiences, featuring models of the islands, marine life, forest birds, and cultural tools and handicrafts, bringing to life the connections between nature and Samoan culture.

Marine Exhibit

The marine exhibit is much more than just an educational display; it’s a portal into the heart of Samoan life—showing how it has evolved over time and will continue to thrive into the future. The exhibits connect past traditions with present realities, helping visitors appreciate the ways Samoan culture and natural beauty are intertwined.

Gateway to Cultural and Natural Wonders

This visitor center serves as a gateway to understanding the park’s efforts to protect its extraordinary natural environments and cultural treasures. Whether you’re learning about the island’s unique ecosystems or engaging with traditional Samoan artifacts, the center offers opportunities for discovery, education, and immersion in the wonders of American Samoa.
