Operating Hours & Seasons

Cave tours are available seven days per week through October 20, 2025.

Thereafter, cave tours will be available Thursday through Monday, closed Tuesday and Wednesday. The last day of the cave tour season is Sunday, November 3rd.

Important Information:

  • Card Payments Only – All cave tour and campground fees must be paid with a credit or debit card. Cash is not accepted.
  • All Members of the Party Must be Present at the time of check in to receive important cave safety information and information to help us protect bats.
  • The cave is only accessible with a guide. Surface areas are free to visit.

Cave Tours

Tour Availability

Cave tours are available seven days per week through October 18,2025. Thereafter Thursday through Monday until November 02nd when tours close for the winter.

Tour Times

  • First tour: 10:00 AM
  • Last tour: 4:00 PM

Tickets may be reserved in advance at Recreation.gov. A limited number of same-day, first-come, first-served tickets are available at park visitor centers, but they sometimes sell out. To avoid long waits or disappointment, we strongly recommend purchasing tickets at the Illinois Valley Visitor Center in Cave Junction before making the long drive to the park.

  • Summer operations: Through to August 20, 2025, Thursday through Monday, 9:30 - 5:00. Closed Mondays and Friday. Starting August 21, 2025, open daily.

Children and Height Restrictions

For safety reasons, children must be at least 42 inches (107 cm) tall to participate in a cave tour. Infant carriers and strollers are not permitted. Childcare services are not available at the park.

Food Availability

No food services are available at the park except for snacks. Visitors are encouraged to bring food or plan to eat in town first.

Protecting Bats from White-Nose Syndrome

White-nose Syndrome is a deadly fungal disease affecting bat populations. To help prevent its spread, visitors must not bring any clothing, shoes, or equipment that have been used in other caves, mines, or bat habitats, even if they have been washed.
