Ready, Set, B.A.R.K.!

Do you like exploring national parks with your canine friend? If so, stop by our park to pick up a copy of our Bark Ranger booklet and learn more about Paterson Great Falls’ Bark Ranger program.

The Bark Ranger program teaches dog owners about the importance of following the Rules of B.A.R.K. while visiting Paterson Great Falls. Dogs completing this short program can be sworn in, earn a certificate and our Ranger collar tag to become a Bark Ranger!

Come to the orientation table or knock on the door of the ranger office to pick up a Bark Ranger Booklet for you and your pet! Rangers are available Wednesday through Sunday, 9:00AM to 4:30PM.

Rules of B.A.R.K.

B – Bag Your Poop

• Please dispose of pet waste in one of the park’s many garbage cans.

• Dog feces is not a natural fertilizer. Water sources may also be polluted by dog feces.

A – Always Wear a Leash

• Leashes must be 6 feet or less. Retractable leashes must not be extended past this limit.

• Remember that many people, especially children, are frightened by dogs, even small ones. Leashes protect the experience of other visitors who may be afraid, allergic, or who do not want a dog approaching them.

R – Respect Wildlife

• Dogs can chase and threaten wildlife, scaring birds and other animals away from nesting, feeding, and resting sites.

• Please keep your dog at a respectful distance from any animals you may encounter.

K – Know Where You Can Go

• Please stay on marked paths with your pets.

Bark Ranger Checklist

To become a Bark Ranger, get your human to learn to the Rules of B.A.R.K and complete one or more of these activities together:

• Take your human for a walk at the Paterson Great Falls.

• Take a photo of you and your human while adhering to Bark Ranger rules.

• Tag @PatersonGreatFalls (Instagram) and #BarkRangers on social media for a chance to get your photo featured on the park’s social media.

• Tell your canine friends or family members how to follow the Bark Ranger rules when they visit any park.
