Place
Deer Creek Beach

NPS/ Adriana Barrera
During the winter migration months, visitors can see gray and humpback whales as they travel south, along with dolphins, sea lions, and other marine life. On land, the mountains and bluffs provide habitat for Mediterranean plant and animal communities, including mountain lions, deer, coyotes, and various coastal birds.
Currently, there are no amenities on-site, so visitors should plan accordingly for a natural and rugged experience. As part of the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area, established in 1978, Deer Creek Beach contributes to the more than 153,000 acres of protected land in Los Angeles and Ventura counties.
