Pride of Baltimore, Inc. is dedicated to celebrating Maryland’s rich maritime history through its iconic vessel, Pride of Baltimore II, a historic reproduction of a Baltimore Clipper topsail schooner. As a goodwill ambassador, Pride II sails the Chesapeake Bay Watershed, connecting visitors to the region’s vibrant seafaring heritage while promoting economic development and tourism.

Visitors can explore Pride II through engaging deck tours that offer insights into the unique history of privateering, the role of Baltimore Clippers in the War of 1812, and the broader maritime traditions of the Chesapeake Bay. The ship also hosts interactive two-hour day and sunset sails, where guests can help set and lower the sails, creating memorable hands-on experiences.

As part of the NPS Chesapeake Gateways network, Pride II helps tell the story of the Bay’s working waterfronts, the impact of maritime trade, and the contributions of diverse sailors who shaped the region.  Twelve crew members live onboard and operate the ship in the same way sailors would have over 200 years ago, preserving a maritime tradition unique to the Chesapeake Bay.
