The U.S. Landing Monument commemorates the 1944 American liberation of Guam, one of the most intense and costliest battles of the Pacific. It is located at the spot where the 21st U.S. Marines landed on Assan Beach. It is dedicated to "the gallant men of all the services who fought and fell in the assault, seizure and occupation of Guam."

Plaques on the base of the monument give the history of the battle, list the commanders, and dedicate the monument to all American dead. A 3D replica of the Marine insignia is located on the top. It was dedicated by General Lemuel C. Shepherd Jr., commander of the 1st Provisional Marine Brigade during the Battle of Guam.
