Week Full of Fun Activities at Rocky Mountain National Park

Looking for some fun activities the week after Christmas? Come to Rocky Mountain National Park!

On the park’s east side, near the gateway community of Estes Park, are the following activities:

Tuesday, December 26 and Friday, December 29 – Read with a Ranger!
Meet from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Fall River Visitor Center to hear stories from a ranger about the wonders of the winter season.

Wednesday, December 27 and Thursday, December 28 – Snowshoe with a Ranger!
Snowshoe fans of all levels are invited to explore the trails and forests during this one-hour snowshoe walk. Reservations are required by calling (970) 586-1223 beginning December 20. Participants need to supply their own snowshoes and poles with baskets. Meet at Bear Lake at 12:30 p.m. Remember to call for reservations.

On the park’s west side, near the gateway community of Grand Lake, are the following activities:

Saturday, December 30 and Sunday, December 31 – Snowshoe with a Ranger!
On Saturday, take an intermediate level 2-hour snowshoe tour. If a 2-hour beginner tour is more suitable, come Sunday instead. Meet at the Kawuneeche Visitor Center at 1:00 p.m. Reservations are required by calling (970) 627-3471 after December 23. Participants need to supply their own snowshoes and poles with baskets.

Saturday, December 30 – Ski with a Ranger!
Ski a snow-draped landscape and learn about the Kawuneeche Valley. Join a ranger at 9:00 a.m. at the Kawuneeche Visitor Center for this 2-hour cross-country ski tour. No reservations are required but participants must supply their own cross-country skis and poles with baskets.
