Getting Around the Park

San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park is located in San Francisco, California in the Fisherman’s Wharf neighborhood. Because San Francisco Maritime does not cover a large area, walking is the best way to get around within the park. City streets are adjacent to the park but no public road goes through it. There is no parking lot, and street parking is limited. Using public transportation is an excellent and popular way to visit the park.

Whether you are driving, cycling, or taking public transportation, reaching the park is easy and scenic.

Public Transportation

The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) offers bus service throughout the city, including multiple routes with stops near San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park. Some nearby bus routes include the 49, 28, and 19 lines. The turnaround for the historic Hyde St cable cars is also found within the park on the corner of Hyde St and Beach St.

Vehicle Parking

There is no designated parking area for San Fransicso Maritime National Historical Park. Metered street parking, garages, and parking lots are available but may charge a fee. Traffic around the popular Fisherman's Warf neighborhood can be busy and parking may be difficult to find.
