General Information

During 2025 and 2026 there will be major road construction improvements on Mineral King Road. This narrow, curvy mountain road has been in need of improvements and repaving for many years. There will be closures and traffic delays on weekdays throughout the spring, summer, and fall. See the schedules below.

In areas where road work is on-going or there are only temporary repairs, travel slowly and obey reduced speed limits and any traffic management, such as temporary traffic lights or flaggers.

This page will be updated periodically when major road work is happening in the parks.

Mineral King Road

In 2025 there will be road construction that will introduce road improvements. During construction there will be closures and delays on weekdays. There will be no traffic impacts on weekends or holidays.

The schedule of road closures and delays are summarized in the table below. The schedule is subject to change based on conditions.

Tentative May 19 – September 1 Construction Closure Schedule

Memorial Day, Monday, May 26: No closures or delays.

1 pm – One eastbound pass-through, followed by one westbound pass-through
