NPS
The oral history program, part of the Park History Program, is dedicated to:
- Improving oral history practice in the National Park Service through workshops and webinars that explore all phases of a successful oral history project—project planning, legal and ethical issues, selecting recording equipment, conducting in-depth interviews, interview transcription, archiving, and using oral history. Program coordinator Lu Ann Jones has offered two- to four-day workshops at the Service-wide, regional, and park and program levels.
- Conducting oral history interviews with NPS personnel and preserving the recordings and transcripts at the NPS Archives in Charles Town, West Virginia.
- Sharing oral history interviews through short audio productions.
