Hike the Fisherman's Trail

Starting at the southeast of the Katherine Landing launch ramp, this trail offers majestic views of Lake Mohave, Newberry Mountains, Spirit Mountain (5639 ft.), and Avi Kwa Ame National Monument, the center of creating for all Yuman speaking tribes. There is an impressive sand dune where opportunities for viewing local critter tracks are plentiful. The trail ends when you come out of the mesquite trees and arrow weed and find the sandy beach at Ski Cove.

The Fisherman's Trail is in a fee area, like the rest of the park. Keep your park pass or proof of admission with your vehicle for rangers to inspect.

Remember heat kills, be summer-smart and opt to hike when temperatures are cooler. If you do choose to hike during the summer, rangers recommend starting early in the morning or later in the evening when the weather is slightly cooler. Remember to pack enough water for your entire trip.
