Management

The superintendent of Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace National Historic Site is Shirley McKinney. She is also the superintendent of 8 other sites that are in Manhattan and Mount Vernon: African Burial Ground National Monument, Castle Clinton National Monument, Federal Hall National Memorial, General Grant National Memorial, Governor's Island National Monument, Stonewall National Monument, Saint Paul's Church National Historic Site and Hamilton Grange National Memorial.

The National Park Service's mission statement is: "The National Park Service preserves unimpaired the natural and cultural resources and values of the National Park System for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of this and future generations." Managing our national park sites to achieve that mission requires the teamwork of many people. Park managers use plans which provides basic guidance for planning and management decisions for special places like Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace.
