Road Closures

South Unit

Due to ongoing road construction operations, the Scenic Loop road between mile marker 22.5 (Old East Entrance Station parking area) and 28 is closed to all access until further notice, including vehicles, pedestrian hiking and biking. At this time we do not have a date for when construction will be completed.

North Unit

The park road is a 14 miles in and 14 miles out scenic drive (28 miles total). Please contact the North Unit Visitor Center at 701-623-4730 ext. 1240 for current road conditions in the North Unit.

During the months of November through April, closures due to snow and ice are common. Roads close and reopen as conditions permit--there are no set dates.
