What is a CUA?

Commercial Use Authorizations (CUAs) are required for all commercial services provided by a company or organization not based in the park.

How much does a CUA cost?

• Annual Application Fee: The nonrefundable application fee for CUAs is $300.00 This fee is due at application submission.
• Annual Management Fee: In addition to the application fee, CUA holders must pay a management fee to allow Vicksburg National Military Park to recover costs associated with managing CUAs. This fee is $50.00
• Total Cost for a CUA is $350.00. A single payment is due during initial submission. Vicksburg National Military Park is a cashless operation and collects fees via electronic payment or check.
  

Do CUA holders have to pay park entrance fees?

Yes. Road-based commercial tour operators pay the commercial tour entrance fee each time they enter the park, based on the park’s length of stay. Fees - Vicksburg National Military Park (U.S. National Park Service) (nps.gov)

How do I apply for a CUA?

As part of a larger effort to streamline and modernize the National Park Service (NPS) commercial use authorization (CUA) program, the NPS has developed on online system designed to process CUA applications and collect required CUA reports

The online CUA system includes a standard CUA application fee. The standard CUA application fee across all national parks will be $350 for the first application submitted by the applicant and $250 for subsequent applications from the same applicant to the same park. Application fees will be collected through the system upon application submission.

How long does it take to get a CUA?

• Vicksburg National Military Park requires 2 weeks to process a CUA application.
• Applications are reviewed in the order they are received.

What are the reporting requirements?

• CUA holders must submit an annual report each year by the 15^th of December. Download the report. This report provides the park with visitation statistics, reportable injury data, and a record of annual gross receipts.

• You must return this report via email each year. Failure to return required reports or misrepresentation of statistics or earnings will result in denial of your next CUA application.

Entrance Fees for Commercial Vehicles

Entrance fees for commercial vehicles is based on vehicle capacity, not the amount of passengers on board.

• 1-6 capacity person vehicles: $25.00
• 7-25 person capacity vehicles: $40.00
• Over 25 person capacity vehicles: $100.00

Interagency passes do not apply to passengers on commercial vehicles. As stated on the back of all Interagency Passes: "Admit the pass owner(s) and any accompanying passengers in a private, non- commercial vehicle at per vehicle areas..." it is clearly prohibited to use these passes for commercial entry.

Single vehicle entry fees (non-commercial) cannot be applied to commercial use entrance rates. By policy, "a vehicle fee is an entrance fee for entry of a single, private, non-commercial vehicle and its passengers." Private vehicles or individuals with entry receipts are non-transferable to any other entity or organization and may not be used to waive commercial vehicle entrance fees.
