Park Partners

The national parks and the programs of the National Park Service were built on partnerships. From friends groups to Arts institutions to youth organizations, here are just a few of the key partnerships that support programs offered by Weir Farm National Historical Park.

Weir Farm Art Alliance (formerly the Weir Farm Heritage Trust, Weir Farm Trust, and Weir Farm Art Center) is a non-profit organization with a legacy of advocacy for Weir Farm NHP. Weir Farm NHP thanks the Weir Farm Art Alliance for many years of collaboration and appreciates their new focus on the conservation of the Weir Preserve.

Connecticut Historic Gardens is committed to preserving and promoting historic gardens throughout Connecticut, including Weir Farm National Historical Park.

Historic Artists’ Homes and Studios is a coalition of more than 30 museums that were the homes and working studios of American artists.

G&B Cultural Center supports the visual and performing arts in a local and collaborative manner. Many Weir Farm artists’ works are featured in the gallery, and the center collaborates with the annual Art in the Park Contest, Festival, and Exhibit.

Upper Housatonic Valley National Heritage Area illuminates the diverse, rich identity of the Upper Housatonic River Valley region and preserves and promotes its historical, cultural and natural resources. The Upper Housatonic Valley boasts more than 50 sites listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Eastern National, a 501(c)3 non-profit, promotes the public’s understanding and support of America’s national parks and other public trust partners by providing quality educational experiences, products, and services. You can purchase commemorative products to remember your visit here.

Groundwork Bridgeport is a longstanding youth engagement partner of the park and has provided employment and educational opportunities for hundreds of Bridgeport youth at Weir Farm. This community-based 501(c)(3) non-profit seeks to bring about the sustained regeneration, improvement, and management of the physical environment by empowering people, businesses, and organizations to promote environmental, economic, and social well-being.

Environmental Stewards, part of Conservation Legacy, partners with the park to offer engaging paid internship opportunities to youth. Conservation Legacy is a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to foster conservation service in support of communities and ecosystems.

National Writing Project – The park partners with the Connecticut Writing Project at Fairfield to offer professional development workshops for teachers and opportunities for student learning.

Stephen T. Mather Building Arts & Craftsmanship High School is a Career and Technical Education high school for hands-on skills-training in the specialized building arts and landscape trades, focused on high-quality craftsmanship and historic preservation. Weir Farm works with Mather High School to provide students with immersive educational opportunities like stone wall workshops, historic paint mixing and assessments, and more.

Ridgefield Arts Council generates attention for and collaboration between members of the vibrant arts community in Ridgefield. Its mission is to inform, entertain, and inspire those who appreciate and create art in all its genres.

The National Park Service has thousands of partner organizations that work on projects and programs in parks and communities around the nation.

Tauck Tauck is a local Wilton-based company that creates innovative volunteer, financial & community support programs that engage employees to make a positive impact. As part of their Impact initiative, Tauck supports and partners with the park through volunteer service projects, and more.

Weir Preserve Owned by the non-profit Weir Farm Art Alliance and maintained by the local Weir Preserve Stewardship Committee, the preserve provides the opportunity to hike miles of trail and enjoy serenity, stone walls, hidden places, and an abundance of wildlife and plant life.
